In the countryside, with pool - Herdade do Lanço

The Casas do Lanço are set within a vineyard estate covering some 25,000 m² and are situated in a transitional zone between the Laurissilva forest and the farmland of São Vicente. On the terraced vineyards, one can see the Tinta Negra and Verdelho grape varieties, which are used to produce the famous Madeira wine.

Amongst the group of houses, which are surrounded by several gardens featuring centuries-old trees, a large oak tree over 250 years old stands out. According to several historians, this oak is in fact one of the very first trees to have been planted on the island of Madeira. Various species endemic to the Laurissilva forest, such as tis, vinháticos, barbusanos and laurel trees, can be found on the estate.
The main house is decorated in a simple, rustic and functional style, reflecting its history whilst offering every comfort to guests. The property has three bedrooms: two with double beds and one with two single beds; all bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. The spacious living room has a fireplace where you can enjoy spending time with family or friends. Next to the house is an annexe, a fully renovated former hayloft that can accommodate a further two people. Just a few metres away are the other two houses, each with a bedroom featuring a double bed and a sofa bed.
On the property, you can enjoy the swimming pool, the gardens and the outdoor courtyard. During your stay, you can take the opportunity to get involved in the winemaking process at harvest time, or purchase the wines available at the house.

AREA
The house is located in the north area of the island, more precisely in Rosário, parish of the municipality of São Vicente. Because it is located in a more isolated area, there is no services or commerce in the vicinity of the property. In the village of São Vicente, ten minutes by car, you will find local shops, restaurants, supermarket and pharmacy.

Near the house you have access to trails and levadas, where you can enjoy walking and exploring our fantastic island.

The city of Funchal is 45 minutes away by car.

PROPERTY RULES

To ensure a pleasant stay for everyone, we ask that you observe a few simple rules.

• Smoking is not permitted inside the property. A fine of €300 will be charged for non-compliance.
• Parties or events are not permitted.
• Pets are not permitted.
• Please be considerate of your neighbours and keep noise levels down, especially at night.

The property may be equipped with a smart sensor (Minut) that monitors noise, smoke and temperature levels, solely for safety reasons. This system does not record conversations or collect personal data. Should abnormal levels be detected, a member of our team may contact you. You are not permitted to disable, cover or tamper this or any other equipment installed on the property.

In accordance with Portuguese law, all guests must present valid identification for registration purposes.

Municipal tourist tax (when applicable):
€2.00 per person/night for guests aged 13 and above, up to a maximum of 7 nights (€14.00 per person per stay). A payment link will be sent prior to arrival.

Check-in must be scheduled in advance. If it is not arranged at least 48 hours beforehand, check-in will be subject to our team’s availability.

Early check-in and late check-out are subject to availability and an additional charge.

By confirming your reservation, all guests agree to our house rules and accommodation conditions.

OTHER NOTES
All bed linen and towels are provided. We can also provide, free of charge, a baby travel crib, high chair and baby bath upon request before check-in. Requests made less than 48 hours before arrival may be subject to an additional fee. All properties are equipped with a first aid kit, fire extinguishers and a fire blanket.
For stays of 8 nights or more, a mid-stay service is provided, including the replenishment of bed linen, towels and consumables only. This service is not included for shorter stays. Additional cleaning services during your stay are available on request at an extra charge.
